Vom 6. bis 7. November 2009 veranstaltet die Deutsche Gesellschaft für Informations- und Datenqualität e.V. (DGIQ) die 7. German Information Quality Management Conference (GIQMC) am Hasso-Plattner-Institut in Potsdam.
Als besonderes Ereignis schließt sich vom 7. bis 8. November 2009 die 14. International Conference on Information Quality (ICIQ) an, auf der sich die internationale Datenqualitätscommunity trifft. Zum ersten Mal findet die ICIQ außerhalb des Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT, Boston/USA) statt.
Die Informations- und Datenqualität gewinnt in Unternehmen und Organisationen durch die geforderte Erfüllung externer Gesetze und Regelungen immer stärker an Bedeutung. Viele Unternehmen stellen sich dieser Herausforderung, da Informationen und Daten als entscheidende Ressourcen und ihre Qualität als zentraler Wettbewerbs- und Erfolgsfaktor erkannt werden. Prof. Dr. Andreas Meier, renommierter Experte für Electronic Business, Daten- und Informationsmanagement von der Universität Fribourg/Schweiz, wird mit seiner Keynote zum Thema „Qualitätsmessung von eCommerce-Kennzahlen“ die GIQMC einleiten und die Teilnehmer für das Thema sensibilisieren. Seine praktischen Erfahrungen sammelte er als Systemingenieur bei der IBM Schweiz, Direktor bei der Großbank UBS und Geschäftsleitungsmitglied bei der CSS Versicherung.
