Zu einer ersten Arbeitssitzung am Hasso-Plattner-Institut kommen am 12. Dezember 2011 die Projektpartner des Technologieprogramms "Trusted Clouds" des Bundeswirtschaftsministeriums zusammen. Neben dem HPI als Träger der wissenschaftlichen Begleitforschung zum Programm sind auch die Beratungsunternehmen BearingPoint (Leitung des entsprechenden Kompetenzzentrums), Pierre Audoin und Public One beteiligt.
In vier Arbeitsgruppen werden die Themen Standards, IT-Sicherheit, Geschäftsmodelle und Rechtsrahmen erörtert. Dabei geht es um Fragestellungen, die für alle 14 Teilprojekte bedeutsam sind. Das Technologieprogramm ist vom Bundeswirtschaftsministerium initiiert, hat einen Gesamtumfang von 100 Millionen Euro und wird bis 2015 laufen.
